Pakistan Attacks Pathankot Airbase Post Operation Sindoor

After India’s surgical strikes of Operation Sindoor, Pakistan Attacks Pathankot Airbase and heightened tensions between the two nations. Drone intrusions and shelling made up the attack that had been unleashed earlier than dawn at morning on 8th of May and was responded to by an instant defense reaction of the Indian Armed Forces.

India launched Operation Sindoor against the Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians. Nine terror infrastructures in PoK and Pakistan were hit by the operation, and the pivotal places associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were attacked.

In the later part of the day, Pakistan launched a futile attack on 16 Indian military installations in northern and western India such as Pathankot, Jammu, Amritsar, and Bhuj. The operation began with missile launch, drones, and shells from guns but were foiled by India’s Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Border Security Force (BSF) responded immediately to the attack, with insignificant losses. India’s counter-fire is reported to have severely hit Pakistan’s Air Defence installations, Pakistani radar equipment and missile launchers being razed in large numbers.

Global Reactions

The global community has been observing with utmost interest as tensions have increased. The United States, France, and Israel have defended India’s right to self-defense, whereas China and Turkey have stood alongside Pakistan and appealed for diplomacy.
Pathankot Airbase attack has established a new benchmark of India-Pakistan enmity. While the defense of India was robust, tensions still prevail, and the two countries are contemplating their moves. There can be diplomatic action to avert further tension.
