Pakistan Violates Ceasefire:

A few hours after agreeing to a ceasefire, Pakistan violated the agreement by launching fresh attacks across the Line of Control (LoC), triggering blackouts in several Indian border regions like Barmer and Amritsar. These violations have created panic among residents and forced security forces to be on high alert again.

The attacks began in the Palanwalla sector of Jammu, where heavy shelling was reported. Artillery was also used in other sensitive areas like Akhnoor, Rajouri, and RS Pura. In Baramulla, the Indian Army shot down unidentified drones. District administrations in border towns immediately enforced blackouts to prevent visibility from the sky and ensure public safety.

Barmer and Amritsar administrations issued urgent alerts asking citizens to observe complete blackouts.

Similar precautions were enforced in Pathankot, Ferozepur, Katra, and parts of Kashmir, including Srinagar and Uri. Loud blasts were reported in these areas, raising doubts about whether the recently declared ceasefire is truly being followed.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah voiced his concern on social media, saying it was unclear how a ceasefire could exist when air defense systems were active in Srinagar.

As per Indian officials, Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations had proposed the ceasefire earlier that day. But with fresh reports of shelling and drone activities, the peace agreement now seems to be under threat.

The Border Security Force (BSF) will take strong action if Pakistan violates the ceasefire again. Security teams in Gujarat’s Kutch and Rajasthan’s Barmer and Jaisalmer also spotted drones and shot them down.

This new wave of tension shows that trust between the two countries remains fragile and despite formal agreements, peace on the border is still far from reality.
