Two Arrested in Punjab for Passing Army Intel to Pakistan

Punjab Police has arrested two individuals for allegedly passing Indian army Intel to Pakistan, the sensitive information to a Pakistani official posted at the High Commission in Delhi. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in India’s efforts to dismantle cross-border espionage networks.


Two Arrested in Punjab

According to Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, the arrests were made based on credible intelligence inputs. One suspect was initially apprehended for sharing classified details regarding Indian Army movements with a Pakistan-based handler. During interrogation, a second conduit was identified and taken into custody.

Financial Transactions and Espionage Network
The preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had been receiving payments through online transactions in exchange for classified information. They were in regular contact with the handler and were also channeling funds to other local operatives on his instructions.


Passing Army Intel to Pakistan

DGP Gaurav Yadav stated: “This operation marks a significant step in dismantling cross-border espionage networks and reinforces our commitment to national security.”

He further added: “Investigations will continue as per established protocol, focusing on financial trails and identifying additional operatives and linkages within the network.”

Seized Evidence and Legal Action
Punjab Police has recovered two mobile phones from the suspects, which contained critical evidence related to their espionage activities. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered, and further investigations are underway to trace additional operatives.

The arrests highlight India’s vigilance in countering cross-border espionage and ensuring national security. Authorities remain committed to identifying and dismantling such networks to prevent further breaches.
