Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first statement following Operation Sindoor, made a shocking revelation that Pakistan begged India to stop military action after incurring heavy casualties. He said India was willing to enter into a ceasefire only after Pakistan assured of abandoning its misadventures. PM Modi Exposes Pakistan’s Plea for Ceasefire.
During his speech, PM Modi stressed that India’s aggressive move compelled Pakistan to look for means to flee. Once they understood they were thoroughly defeated, Pakistan reached out to India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) on May 10, seeking a ceasefire. Modi cautioned that India will never fall prey to nuclear blackmail and reaffirmed that terror and trade, terror and talks cannot go hand in hand.
PM Modi stated, ”After India’s aggressive action, Pakistan started looking for ways to escape. Pakistan was appealing to the world to reduce tensions and after being badly beaten, the Pakistani army contacted our DGMO on the afternoon of May 10. By then, we had destroyed the infrastructure of terrorism on a large scale and the terrorists were killed. Therefore, when Pakistan said that it would not show any further terrorist activity and military audacity, India also considered it…”
Pakistan’s Failed Retaliation
Even though India decisively struck Pakistan, Pakistan still tried to seek revenge by mounting drone and missile attacks that could not target the intended spots. India responded by destroying several Pakistan air bases that further dwindled Pakistan’s army capabilities.
The Prime Minister also cautioned Pakistan’s leadership that the terrorists they have raised will end up destroying Pakistan itself. He called on Pakistan to dismantle its terror infrastructure, insisting that there is no other way to peace.
PM Modi complimented the Indian military troops for their effective action. Underscoring the fact that over 100 terrorists were killed in the operation. His comment underlines India’s strong position against terrorism, such that future strikes will be faced with prompt and effective retaliation.
