Tata Motors Q4 Results: Profit Declines, Revenue Slightly Increases

Tata Motors Q4 Results:
Tata Motors announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024–25. The company reported a big drop of 51% in its net profit for the quarter. The profit stood at ₹8,470 crore, compared to ₹17,407 crore in the same period last year.

Tata Motors Q4 Results:
Despite the fall in profit, the company’s revenue for Q4 rose slightly by 0.4% year-on-year to ₹1,19,502 crore. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) dropped by 4.1% to ₹16,700 crore. The EBITDA margin was also lower at 14%.

For the full financial year 2024–25, Tata Motors achieved record revenue of ₹4,39,695 crore, which is a 1.3% increase compared to last year. However, the annual profit declined by 11.4% to ₹27,830 crore. A key highlight was that the company became net auto cash positive with ₹1,000 crore in hand.

Tata Motors said that cost savings and improved performance in its commercial vehicle segment helped reduce the impact of lower volumes. The company also benefited from lower interest costs and improved earnings from its UK-based Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) brand.

JLR posted a slight fall in Q4 revenue but achieved its highest-ever annual profit before tax in the past ten years. Tata Motors also noted that the company will continue to invest in new products and technologies while managing its costs carefully.

In the passenger vehicle segment, Tata sold 1,47,000 units in Q4, a drop of 5.5%. Revenue from this segment also fell by over 13%. However, the electric vehicle (EV) business reported a positive EBITDA margin of 6.5%.

The company declared a final dividend of ₹6 per share for shareholders, to be paid by June 24, 2025.

Despite global economic challenges, Tata Motors remains confident about its future plans and expects steady growth, especially in the SUV, CNG, and EV markets.
