Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa Release Date Announced at THIS Temple. Vishnu Manchu’s most ambitious project, Kannappa, which has quickly become one of the most anticipated Pan-India films, is all set for its grand release. Alongside his father Mohan Babu, actor Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, and director Mukesh Kumar Singh, Vishnu visited the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, where the release date of the film was officially announced.
The makers took their Twitter account and posted a picture of Kannappa showcasing the release date. The poster read, The untold story of Lord Shiva’s greatest devotee. Manchu Vishnu’s Mythological drama Kannappa is all set to hit the theatres on 25th April 2025. The film was initially set to release in December 2024. But the final release date has been locked for April 2025 which will coincide with Maha Shiva Ratri festival. This mythological drama serves as the life story of Lord Shiva’s greatest Devotee Kannappa, showcasing Hindu mythology at its best.
The film has unveiled its first look posters featuring the lead cast, as well as a teaser, each of which has significantly heightened anticipation for the movie. With one of the highest budgets in Indian cinema, Kannappa is set for a wide release across multiple languages, further increasing its reach.
The movie tells the untold story of Lord Shiva’s greatest devotee, Kannappa—a warrior of immense bravery and an ultimate symbol of devotion. Vishnu Manchu had earlier announced that before the film’s release, he and the team would visit all twelve Jyotirlingas. Following their pilgrimage to Kedarnath, they visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain and will soon head to Omkareshwar Temple.
Vishnu Manchu portrays Kannappa where as Mohanlal will be seen in a special role. Rebel star Prabhas will play Nandeeswarudu. Akshay Kumar plays Lord Shiva which marks his first telugu debut, Mohan Babu will be seen as Mahadeva Shastri, R. Sarathkumar as Nathanathudu. The film also stars Madhoo as Pannaga, Kajal Aggarwal makes a cameo appearance as Parvati/Sati. Nayanthara in talks to play Parvathi in the film.
