Immediately after the Pahalgam massacre, India launched Operation Sindoor and eliminated terrorists inside Pakistan. Following that, authorities began cracking down on traitors involved in espionage within India. The police arrested six individuals on charges of collaborating with Pakistan and leaking Indian secrets. Among them was travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra.
As a YouTuber and influencer with a significant following, Jyoti Malhotra was found to have passed sensitive information to Pakistan. Authorities arrested her along with five others. Interestingly, someone had raised suspicions about Jyoti Malhotra’s activities a year ago. Operating under the name Travel with Joe, she had attracted attention on social media for her frequent and questionable international travel. At the time, the individual not only questioned her publicly but also urged the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to monitor her closely.
Who is Jyoti Malhotra?
Jyoti Malhotra, a resident of Hisar, Haryana, runs a travel vlog. Her YouTube channel has 3.77 lakh subscribers, and her Instagram account has 1.33 lakh followers. As a social media influencer, she also promotes various brands. While content creation is her profession, spying for Pakistan reportedly became her secret agenda.
Allegations suggest that she maintained contact with certain staff members at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi. Notably, authorities deported one of those officials on May 13. Shortly after that, they arrested Jyoti Malhotra as well.
Suspicion from the start:
Now, the army and police are closely monitoring Jyoti Malhotra’s movements and have begun investigating her activities. However, a man named Kapil Jain had raised suspicions about her behavior a year ago.
In 2023, Jyoti visited Pakistan twice, followed by a trip to Kashmir. Kapil Jain found this pattern suspicious: Pakistan first, then Kashmir, and believed there was a hidden agenda behind these consecutive visits. He voiced his concerns on social media at the time.
Kapil even alerted the National Investigation Agency (NIA), urging them to keep her under surveillance. NIA officials agreed that her movements appeared suspicious. Unfortunately, no one acted on his warning back then. Now, after her arrest, people are praising Kapil Jain for recognizing the red flags early.
Take a look at the post:

Netizens are praising Kapil Jain for doing what the investigative agencies should have done a year ago. Many are now questioning why the authorities ignored his warnings at the time. Interestingly, the post Kapil shared in May last year has now gone viral.
In 2023, Jyoti Malhotra visited the Pakistani High Commission in India to obtain a visa, where she reportedly established suspicious contacts. Through those connections, she traveled to Pakistan and allegedly met with officials there. Reports suggest she shared sensitive information about India during these meetings.

There are growing suspicions that Jyoti used her travel blog as a cover to collect confidential information about India. Only after the Pahalgam terror attack did the police and army begin taking her movements seriously.
Netizens argue that if authorities had acted on Kapil Jain’s social media alert last year, the Pahalgam tragedy might have been prevented.
