Maharashtra Fire Tragedy: It is well known that a massive fire broke out in a textile mill in Solapur district of Maharashtra in the early hours of Sunday morning. A large-scale fire broke out due to a short circuit. In this incident, 8 people lost their lives on the spot. Among the deceased were three women and a child. In this incident, which shocked people across the country, 100 fire engines were deployed to douse the fire. They worked for a total of 17 hours to bring the fire under control. On Sunday, May 18, a fire broke out suddenly in a textile mill in the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area of Solapur district of Maharashtra.
The fire broke out at 3.45 am. However, since there were two families in the mill, they all slept there. The accident happened while they were still fast asleep, and even then, all they had was clothes. Within moments, the fire spread rapidly and engulfed the entire building. As a result, a total of 8 people from two families lost their lives. However, the locals who noticed the matter informed the police and fire brigade. They all rushed to the spot and started rescue operations.
A total of 100 fire engines were brought in to try to put out the fire. They worked for about 17 hours to bring the fire under control. They also tried hard to bring out the dead and injured. During this time, three firefighters were also seriously injured. They were also taken to the hospital. However, among the dead were 80-year-old factory owner Haji Usman Hasan Bhai Mansuri, his grandson Anas Hanif Mansuri, 25-year-old Anas Hanif Mansuri, his grandson’s wife Shifa Anas Mansuri, 20-year-old, and their one-and-a-half-year-old son Yusuf Mansuri, officials said.
However, while they were all in a bedroom, firefighters demolished a wall to bring out their bodies. Officials said that Yusuf was found in his mother’s arms. The other four deceased were identified as 45-year-old Mehtab Syed Bhagwan, his wife 38-year-old Ashabanu, their son Salman, 20, and daughter Hina, 26. The bodies of all of them have now been shifted to the local government hospital for postmortem. However, three of them died of severe burn injuries, while the other five died of smoke inhalation due to the fire. Doctors said that the fire was so intense that they died of smoke inhalation.
