The film was initially slated to be streamed on Zee5, but it received a surprise blow when the platform withdrew the offer owing to certain budget issues. But Samantha was quick to secure another digital platform for the film, ensuring that it extends to the maximum audience.
Mixing the horror and comedy genres, Subham develops a fresh tale. A woman getting mysteriously possessed daily at 9 PM in the evening while watching a TV serial. This interesting mix of the supernatural and comedy has been generating interest among audiences.
Though the film struggled during its theatre run as well as during selling digital rights, promotional work was done by Samantha by touring Telugu states to create awareness and buzz.
Once Zee5 walked out, Subham has entered into a deal with Jio Hotstar, giving unparalleled reach. Not only did the action save the life of the film in the digital era but also reinstated Samantha as a producer’s grit.
