Hyderabad Government: In the wake of the disastrous fire accident at Gulzar Houz where 17 members of a household lost their lives, the Telangana government formed a six-member committee to conduct a proper investigation into the accident. The accident also raised questions on the fire safety standards and the effectiveness of emergency responses.
The committee consists of senior officials from various departments so that the incident is thoroughly investigated:

Aims of the Investigation
Determining the Cause of the Fire
To determine whether negligence, electrical failure, or defects in the building led to the tragedy.
Assessing response effectiveness by the fire department and ambulance.
Review of Fire Safety Act – Compliance with fire safety regulations in offices and apartment complexes.
Delivering Preventive Guidance – Providing guidance on the measures to prevent such a tragedy from ever happening again.
Site Inspection and Submission of Report
The committee will visit the site of the fire on Wednesday and conduct an on-site inspection. They will put whatever they have in a report to be submitted to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Other than what they will discover, the report will also include recommendations of how fire safety protocols must be enhanced across Hyderabad.
The tragedy put the topic of imposing stricter fire safety regulations, especially in the old buildings, into the spotlight. The activists and residents have been calling for compulsory fire audits and enhancing emergency response systems by the government.
