IT: Welcome to Derry teaser is out: When and Where to Watch

IT: Welcome to Derry: HBO and Warner Bros. Television have released the much-anticipated teaser for IT: Welcome to Derry, the prequel to the hit horror films IT and IT: Chapter Two. The series delves into the terrifying history of Derry, Maine, and the earlier reign of the shape-shifting monster known as ‘It.’ Set 27 years before the events of the original films, the show promises to uncover the origins of the nightmare that haunted the Losers’ Club.

New Cast:
As the story’s main source of terror, Pennywise the Dancing Clown, Bill Skarsgard returns to his terrifying role. Taylor Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso are all featured in the new series.

Take a look at the teaser:

To broaden the scope of Stephen King’s renowned horror novel, Andy Muschietti, the director of the IT movies, has reteamed with his sister and producing partner, Barbara Muschietti.

In the recent interview Muschietti said, “This is a book that we really enjoy, and we felt that there was a lot of story to be covered.” We felt that by returning to this universe, we would do the book and its followers credit because it is so full of characters and events. In particular, we are sharing Mike Hanlon’s articles about the interludes, which are based on his research, which includes interviews with the town’s elderly residents.”

Roy Lee, Shelley Meals, Bill Skarsgård, David Coatsworth, Dan Lin, and Caleb Kane also join the executive production team. Fuchs, who co-showruns the series with Kane, wrote the teleplay for the first episode.

HBO plans to premiere nine episodes of the series in 2025. IT: Welcome to Derry will take viewers deeper into the nightmare that began long before the Losers’ Club came together. While HBO hasn’t confirmed an exact release date, the series is expected to launch before October.
