Security Breach: Mumbai Police stated on Thursday that they had detained a man and a woman for allegedly trying to break into Bollywood celebrity Salman Khan’s home this week. The police also stated that on Tuesday and Wednesday, the suspects attempted to enter Galaxy Apartments in Bandra (West) separately. The woman was recognized as Isha Chhabra (32) and the man as Jitendra Kumar Singh (23).
Suspects Identified:
Singh, a Chhattisgarh native, was first seen wandering around Mr. Khan’s home on Tuesday at approximately 9.45 a.m., according to the police. In a fit of rage, the accused shattered his cell phone on the ground when a police officer assigned to the actor’s protection requested him to leave.
Police Statements:
A police officer said Singh entered Galaxy Apartments around 7:15 p.m. by tailing a resident’s car into the building. He managed to get inside, but the police caught him again and handed him over to the Bandra police.
During questioning, Singh told officers he wanted to meet the actor. He admitted sneaking into the building because the police had stopped him earlier.
Authorities said Chhabra made a similar attempt around 3:30 a.m. the next day and even reached the apartment’s elevator. Police arrested both accused and registered trespassing cases against them.
Death Threat on Salman Khan:
On April 14 of last year, two guys on motorcycles who were supposedly members of the Bishnoi gang opened fire outside Galaxy Apartments, giving Mr. Khan a significant security fright. Later on, it was discovered that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was responsible for the attack.

Citing the actor’s notorious 1998 black buck hunting incident, which the imprisoned mobster said angered the Bishnoi community, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) stated in 2023 that Mr. Khan was at the top of the list of ten primary targets that the Bishnoi intended to eradicate. The Mumbai Police have given the actor ‘Y-plus’ security cover after he got multiple threats from the Bishnoi gang. In order to improve his home’s security, he has also made significant renovations.
Police increased security outside the actor’s home when the Bishnoi gang killed Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique in April, months after the shooting incident.

NCP leader Shot Dead:
Mr. Khan was good friends with Siddique, who was well-known for throwing extravagant iftar parties. After the NCP leader was shot, the actor even went to his home and hospital. Mr. Khan discussed how the intense security detail work might be limiting his style at a press conference in Mumbai in March of this year, just before the premiere of his film Sikandar. “No, it doesn’t happen while I’m around reporters. My style gets cramped when I’m not in the press. No, of course not. There is nothing I can do. I’m going to shoot from my house in Galaxy and then return home. “No side trips,” he declared.
