How to Make Korean Ramen at Home: An Easy Recipe

Korean Ramen: All K-drama lovers have probably thought about trying the delicious Korean ramen featured in their favorite shows at least once. Would you believe me if I said you can easily make this tasty Korean dish at home? Well, you can! Here’s a simple and delicious Korean ramen recipe that captures the bold, spicy flavors Korea is known for:


 

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack Korean instant ramen (e.g., Shin Ramyeon, Samyang, or any Korean brand)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • ½ cup sliced scallions (green onions)
  • ¼ cup kimchi (optional but recommended)
  • 1 slice of cheese (optional, for creamy texture)
  • ½ cup vegetables (bok choy, mushrooms, carrots, etc.)
  • Toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • A few drops of sesame oil

 


Instructions:

1. Boil Water & Add Veggies

Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot.
Add the ramen noodles and vegetables. Let them cook for 2–3 minutes.

 

2. Add Seasoning & Extras

Add the seasoning packet(s) from the ramen. Stir well.
Add kimchi and let it simmer for another 1–2 minutes.

 

3. Crack the Egg

Gently crack an egg into the pot. Cover and simmer for 1–2 minutes if you like a soft yolk.

 

4. Add Cheese (Optional)

Place a slice of cheese on top for extra richness. Let it melt.

 

5. Finish & Serve

Drizzle with a few drops of sesame oil.
Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds.
Serve hot and slurp away!

 

Tips:

Want it spicier? Add gochujang (Korean chili paste) or extra chili flakes.
For a heartier meal, add cooked beef, tofu, or seafood.
