Metro Harasser: The person who allegedly operated the Instagram account that posted pictures of female riders on the metro system has been arrested. According to sources, the owner of the account Bangalore Metro Clicks (@metro_chicks) was arrested on Friday and is currently being questioned after a first information report (FIR) was filed on Wednesday.

Metro Harasser Got Caught:

More than 5,000 people followed the account, which featured multiple images and videos of female Metro commuters in Bengaluru, both on platforms and aboard trains. The Bengaluru Police were tagged by a user on X who flagged the account and urged them to take action. All of the account’s images were removed after a formal complaint was made. Later on, Instagram removed it.

Police Statement:

According to the police statement, none of the women is aware that they were being photographed. Police also stated, A charge of voyeurism has been filed at the Banashankari police station under the Information Technology Act concerning a particular Instagram page that posted images and videos of female passengers using the metro without their knowledge or agreement.”
