Pawan Kalyan: While the Tollywood theater controversy is going on, a statement was released from Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s office. The government hopes to develop the Telugu film industry by granting it industry status. However, Pawan Kalyan expressed dissatisfaction that the government is not receiving due courtesy and gratitude from the film industry. He suggested that instead of individual appeals, they should come together. He said that a film development policy will be released soon.
Pawan Kalyan has released a press note stating that those in the Telugu film industry do not seem to show the least bit of courtesy and gratitude towards the government. Even though the NDA coalition government has been formed in AP, have the representatives of the Telugu film associations met the Chief Minister politely? He asked on that occasion.
“Even though the NDA coalition government has been formed for a year, the Telugu film associations have not met Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu politely at least once. Except for the government coming forward only on the occasion of the release of their films, they have not come together for the development of the film industry.
Even though Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan suggested that everyone should come together, they did not respond positively,” the statement said. He said that the previous government seemed to have forgotten how it had ruined the film industry and top actors. There would be no more personal discussions with the government. Only representatives of film associations should come. He said that the coalition government would not look at individuals, but at the development of the film industry.
“Associations like the Telugu Film Industry Council, Producers’ Council, and Movie Artists’ Association seem to have forgotten how the previous government had ostracized and embroiled top actors and technicians in the Telugu film industry. In addition to providing all possible encouragement to films made with investments of crores of rupees, the coalition parties had clearly stated before the elections that the dignity of those involved in this business, which is associated with creativity, should not be violated.
The previous government used to do things based on individuals, and resorted to partisanship. How can producers forget how much trouble they caused by appointing tahsildars near theaters during the release of films they did not like?”
“The coalition government did not look at individuals as Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan said before the elections. Even when the film of Akkineni Nagarjuna’s family was released, the Andhra Pradesh government encouraged it appropriately. The policy of the coalition government is that the system should be good and those who depend on it should not be troubled. Why do the Telugu film industry come individually and submit petitions during the release of their films and ask for an increase in ticket prices? Pawan Kalyan suggested that everyone come together and discuss clearly with the government.”
Pawan Kalyan also said that if producers like Dil Raju, Allu Aravind, D. Suresh Babu, Y. Supriya, China Babu, C. Ashwini Dutt, Naveen Erneni come together and all can develop the industry if they are united. However, they have been coming individually and submitting petitions to the Cinematography Department to increase the ticket prices of their films. The government has been responding positively. The Deputy Chief Minister has decided to accept the return gift given by some from Telugu cinema to Pawan Kalyan, who is planning to give industry status to the film industry. He expressed his gratitude for this return gift,” the press note said.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has thought of bringing a special policy for the development of the film industry and will announce a comprehensive film development policy after discussing it with the Chief Minister. He said that from now on, there will be no room for personal requests and discussions. He said that discussions will be held only with representatives of the relevant departments. Pawan Kalyan is planning to focus on skill development in 24 departments from film production to commerce in the state… using advanced technology. He informed that the path for the development of the film industry in Andhra Pradesh is being paved through the Comprehensive Film Development Policy.
