Karnataka Govt: The Karnataka government has released a circular requesting parents to refrain from sending their children to school if they are exhibiting fever, cough, cold, or other symptoms in response to the recent surge of COVID-19 cases.
The Karnataka government’s circular states, “If schoolchildren exhibit fever, cough, cold, or other symptoms, do not send them to school and follow appropriate treatment and care measures as per doctor’s advice.” Karnataka has 234 active COVID-19 cases as of Friday. Since January 1, three individuals with the infection and additional comorbidities have passed away.
Covid in India:
According to government data, the number of COVID-19 cases in India has increased fivefold, with an estimated 3,000 active cases. Kerala has had the largest increase, followed by Maharashtra and Delhi. There were 2,710 active COVID-19 cases in India as of May 30, up 511 from the day before.
Strict Rules From Karnataka Govt:
The Karnataka government advised parents to send their children to school only after they have fully recovered. It also emphasized the need for everyone to strictly follow preventive measures such as proper coughing etiquette, hand hygiene, and other COVID-19 appropriate behaviors (CAB).

The state administration warned schools to strictly follow Covid-19 precautionary measures to protect students’ health. During the Covid-19 status review meeting held on May 26 and presided over by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the Commissioner of the Health and Family Welfare Department in Karnataka issued guidelines outlining the safety measures to be implemented in both public and private schools.
