IndiGo’s New Route: According to media sources, IndiGo, India’s largest airline, announced on Saturday, May 31, 2025, that it will begin direct flights between Adampur (Jalandhar) in Punjab and Mumbai. The report stated that the airline will start flight operations on Monday, July 2, 2025.
With this new route, the low-cost carrier aims to expand its domestic network in response to the growing demand for air travel in India’s aviation sector.
Adampur to Mumbai:
IndiGo has announced that the new route will boost connectivity and unlock economic potential, as Adampur becomes the airline’s 77th overall destination and 55th domestic destination from Mumbai. Vinay Malhotra, head of global sales at IndiGo, said, “We will continue to strengthen our domestic network to meet the growing demand for air travel in the region,” according to the agency report.
By launching the direct link between Adampur and Mumbai, IndiGo aims to enhance trade and national opportunities by connecting Punjab’s industrial and agricultural sectors with key ports in Mumbai. According to IndiGo data, the airline will rank Adampur as its 92nd domestic and 133rd overall destination.

Indigo Warning:
IndiGo issued a travel advisory on Saturday, May 31, 2025, alerting passengers of a “slight delay” in aircraft operations on the country’s east coast because of thunderstorms and ongoing rain.
In a social media post on platform X, the company stated, “#6ETravelAdvisory: Intermittent heavy rains may cause slight delays in flight operations as monsoon showers sweep across the eastern coast.” According to the post, the main locations where flight operations are anticipated to be interfered with on Saturday are Silchar, Aizawl, and Shillong. To guarantee that the trip starts as soon as possible, IndiGo reminded its clients that the teams are keeping a careful eye on the situation.
