June Telugu Releases: Tollywood had a decent start to 2025, but the momentum quickly faded. Each month seems to have delivered just one decent hit, with no major blockbusters or industry-defining films capturing audience imagination, except for the Sankranthiki Vasthunam, which stood out.

The festive season brought a much-needed boost, with Daaku Maharaaj emerging as a strong hit, earning the title of an industry-level success in the regional film category. However, Game Changer fell short of expectations, dampening the overall impact. Still, January was largely saved by the Sankranthi Vasthunam.

Monthly Box Office Summary So Far

February saw Thandel keeping the box office afloat.
March brought Court Into, which performed well enough to keep the momentum going.
April, however, was underwhelming, with no notable hits or box office pullers.

May showed signs of recovery:

Hit 3, released on May 1, received a decent response.
Hit 3 finally crossed the ₹100 crore mark.
Single and Shubham did moderately well.
Bhairavam and Shashtipoorthi failed to leave an impression.

June Telugu Releases: A Crucial Month for Tollywood

Now, all eyes are on June, which is packed with big-ticket releases that could revive the box office.

June 5 marks the grand Telugu release of Tamil star Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, expected to make a splash in both states.
Following that, Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veeramallu is set to take over the box office.
Dhanush and Nagarjuna will then hit the screens with Kubera, a film carrying high expectations.

The Wild Card: Kannappa

Towards the end of June, Manchu Vishnu’s Kannappa is slated for release. With Prabhas playing a pivotal role, the film is expected to open strong. However, its ultimate success depends heavily on audience word-of-mouth. Whether it will meet the June 27 release date or face another delay is still uncertain.

A Make-or-Break Month

Industry analysts suggest that if June performs well—with at least one or two films reaching the ₹100–₹200 crore mark, Tollywood can consider the first half of 2025 a modest success. A strong June could set a positive tone for the rest of the year, offering hope for a more vibrant second half.
