Bhubharati Act:
The Telangana government has started a new effort to solve land issues faced by the public. This initiative is being done under the new bhubharati Scheme, which began on April 14, 2025. The aim is to make the revenue system more people-friendly and solve land problems at the village level.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the goal is to correct past mistakes and bring land governance closer to the people. Officials are holding revenue sabhas (meetings) in every mandal (administrative division). They have received over 55,000 land-related applications so far. Officials have resolved 60% of these, including some simple property agreements (sada bainamas).
They will hold the third phase of these meetings from June 4 to June 20 across all remaining mandals.A special team led by the Tahsildar (revenue officer) will visit every revenue village to accept and resolve land issues. The government believes that revenue officers should work with a human touch, understanding the people’s problems directly.
The Minister stressed that the revenue department is a bridge between the government and the public. Officers who perform well can bring positive results. In the past, revenue services were limited to a few. But now, the Congress government wants to take these services to the village level.
To make this possible, 6,000 licensed surveyors are being hired. Also, the government is selecting 2.1 lakh people for Indiramma housing benefits, which will continue over four years to help 20 lakh families.
Minister Ponguleti also said the bhubharati can become a role model for the entire country, unlike the earlier Dharani portal brought by the previous government. He promised to solve as many land issues as possible by August 15, 2025.
This reform marks a big step in making land administration transparent, accessible, and fair to everyone in the state.
