Fruits are an important part of a healthy diet. They give us vitamins, minerals, and energy. But not all fruits are good to eat at night, especially before going to bed. Eating some fruits at night can cause stomach problems, acidity, and disturb your sleep. Let’s learn which fruits you should avoid at night for better rest.

Fruits to avoid at night

Citrus Fruits:

Oranges, lemons, and other citrus fruits have a lot of vitamin C. They act as antioxidants and are good for health. But eating them just before sleeping can cause acidity and burning in the stomach. So, avoid citrus fruits at night.


Watermelon:

Watermelon contains a lot of water and keeps the body cool during summers. But eating it at night can cause frequent urination. This may wake you up several times and disturb your sleep.

Banana:

Bananas have carbohydrates and natural sugars that provide energy. However, eating bananas late at night can increase blood sugar levels and make it hard to fall asleep. For peaceful rest, avoid bananas before bedtime.

Cherries:

Cherries have melatonin which helps sleep, but they also contain sugar which might cause indigestion or stomach discomfort. So, eat cherries in small amounts at night or avoid them.

Pineapple:

Pineapple helps with digestion but may cause gas or indigestion for some people. Eating it at night can lead to stomach problems, so it is better not to eat pineapple before sleeping.

Grapes:

Grapes naturally contain sugar and can give energy. But eating grapes before bed can raise blood sugar and disturb your sleep.

Mango:

Mangoes have high sugar content and eating them at night can cause heat in the body and increase sugar levels, leading to poor sleep.

To stay healthy, eat the right food at the right time. It is best to eat fruits like these a little earlier in the evening and avoid heavy or sugary fruits just before bedtime. This will help you sleep better and feel refreshed in the morning.
