Kalki 2: There is reportedly conflict on movie sets as a result of Deepika Padukone’s request for fewer hours after becoming a mother. Bollywood.mobi stated on Instagram that the film’s creators are thinking about reducing or eliminating her role in Kalki 2.
The announcement follows her departure from Spirit, which was helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It was widely reported that she had a confrontation with the director of Animal. “After losing back-to-back projects, this could affect her career,” the 2 million-follower Instagram page stated.
Kalki 2898 AD:
Kalki had great success in 2898 AD, making ₹1,042.25 crore globally. National celebrities Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan starred in the film.
Although fans have been anticipating Kalki 2, the sequel, there have been rumors that the filming may be postponed following the birth of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s daughter, Dua Padukone Singh. The Bollywood actress claims that her daughter is her top priority right now and that she is not in a rush to get back to work. Like her mother, she wishes to raise her child by herself.
Director Nag Ashwin Response:
Director Nag Ashwin stated that Deepika’s role was the foundation of Kalki amid the rumors. He went on to say that without her, the sequel would not be conceivable. Fans responded to the news that Deepika Padukone would not be appearing in Kalki 2. It’s a fact that new mothers have challenges, particularly when they’re trying to maintain a work-life balance! Even well-known celebrities who wish to work and be with their developing children are having difficulties! One user wrote. “But how the mother part will be played without her?” asked another.

Another added, seemingly alluding to the Sandeep Reddy Vanga case, “If you want to make an actress work even after having a baby…that too such a big actress, there must be equality in payment too.” “She needs to be given some leeway. It makes perfect sense. Even in the professional sphere, women can be flexible. Another said, “This is just the film industry, and you can stretch the timelines.”
The Spirit Controversy:
One of the most paid actresses in India, Deepika Padukone, has frequently voiced her opposition to unfair compensation in movies. As rumors circulated over her departure from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, an old interview of hers reappeared. In the interview, Deepika revealed that, despite liking the script, she had once quit a project because the director was unable to pay her appropriately.
Even though Deepika didn’t mention Spirit by name, the filmmaker left a scathing comment online. An unidentified actress was accused by Sandeep Reddy of being disrespectful and disclosing plot points. According to reports, Deepika received her highest fee to date of ₹20 crore after being placed opposite Prabhas. At a much-reduced cost, Triptii Dimri has now taken her position.
