These Apps Offer Triple Refunds for Unconfirmed Tickets

Triple Refunds: Booking a confirmed ticket during peak travel hours remains a challenge for many passengers, who often land on the waiting list despite booking early. To address this issue, travel platforms like RedBus, MakeMyTrip, and Ixigo have introduced a new feature called Ticket Confirmation Assurance. Under this feature, users who fail to get a confirmed ticket will receive a threefold money-back guarantee, offering a safety net for travelers facing uncertainty.

What is Conformity Assurance?

Popular travel apps now offer passengers booking waitlisted train tickets a new Ticket Confirmation Assurance feature. When booking, users can choose this option, which works like travel insurance for non-guaranteed rail tickets.

If the final chart shows the ticket as unconfirmed, the platforms first try to arrange an alternative confirmed train or bus ticket. If they cannot secure a replacement, the platforms refund up to three times the original ticket price, based on their specific policies. Travel apps like RedBus, MakeMyTrip, and Ixigo have already launched this assurance feature. Here’s how it generally helps travelers facing uncertain ticket confirmations.

Ixigo: Ixigo offers waitlisted passengers two to three money-back guarantee options at the time of booking. The platform reimburses the amount based on the selected assurance plan if the ticket remains unconfirmed.

RedBus: RedBus automatically attempts to book an alternate bus ticket if the train ticket is not confirmed, ensuring passengers don’t miss their journey.

MakeMyTrip: MakeMyTrip provides a range of options, including refunds or alternate travel arrangements, depending on availability.

These platforms aim to ease the uncertainty of waitlisted train travel by offering assurance features that reduce risk and improve passenger confidence.

Benefit Features For Passengers:
During holidays and festivals, passengers often struggle with waitlisted train tickets as demand soars. According to IRCTC, thousands face challenges due to unconfirmed reservations.

This new feature aims to eliminate last-minute cancellations and the need to buy expensive alternative tickets. If passengers do not receive a confirmed ticket, they can claim a refund worth two to three times the original fare. Travelers can now book with greater confidence, knowing they will receive compensation even if their trip is canceled. The terms and restrictions of the specific travel platform apply to refunds and replacement tickets.
