Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is well-known as Balayya, is a renowned name in Telugu cinema, famous for his commanding screen presence and blockbuster performances. Though he has an enormous fan following and is a star, Balakrishna has left people surprised by rejecting a number of eminent film offers. His choice of profession is generally based on a clear personal vision and the wish to play roles that suit his image and values. Following are some of the major ones which are rejected by Balakrishna.
1. Thalaivi (2020)
Balakrishna was approached to reprise his father’s role, legendary Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) again in Thalaivi. It is a biopic in which Kangana Ranaut would be playing the lead female character. To which Balakrishna replied in the negative, and reportedly told them that he didn’t wish to do the very same role all over again, since he had already essayed NTR in two different biopics.
2. Raithu
Raithu was supposed to be a hard-hitting political drama. Balakrishna was all set to partner with director Krishna Vamsi. The film began generating a buzz early on, especially after reports of Amitabh Bachchan being considered for a crucial role. Unfortunately, the film went down the drain after reports of Big B’s departure from the project.
3. Bobby’s Untitled Project
One of them is Bobby director who was set to direct a movie with Balakrishna too. Vishwak Sen played a small role in the same film, but he simply pulled out; apparently, the character does not fit into what Vishwak is looking for. There is no word on that either.
4. Other Pending Projects
During the course of his career, Balakrishna has said to have rejected quite a few offers because of script worries, scheduling issues, or creative differences. Although some of those movies proceeded with other actors, there were others that never moved past pre-production.
