Ahmedabad Plane Crash: 133 Dead, Toll Expected to Rise

Ahmedabad Plane Crash: The death toll in the Ahmedabad plane crash that shook the country has reached 133. There are reports that the death toll may rise. An Air India Boeing 787-8 aircraft flying from Ahmedabad to London crashed in a residential area. There were 230 passengers and 12 crew members on board. Several people have been seriously injured in the accident. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was also on the plane. He has been seriously injured in the accident, it is being reported.


The plane took off at 1:38 and crashed within five minutes. Eyewitnesses say that it fell from a height of 625 feet and caught fire. Rescue operations have been intensified at the accident site. Three National Disaster Response Force teams have been deployed. Authorities have announced that the airport has been temporarily closed and services have been suspended. The Prime Minister spoke to the Civil Aviation Minister. The DGCA has started an investigation to find out the cause of the accident. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau team has returned to Ahmedabad. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Ahmedabad.

 


There are 169 Indians on the passenger list. Initial information about the passengers is that 53 are British, 7 Portuguese citizens and one from Canada. It is reported that there are also Malayalis on the passenger list. At the same time, the authorities have clarified that the plane was flown by experienced pilots.
