Doctors say that walking between 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day is good for most people. It improves blood circulation, keeps the heart healthy, and reduces the risk of diabetes. However, not everyone needs to walk the same amount. The right number of steps depends on your age, health condition, and fitness level.
While walking is healthy, too much walking can cause problems. Especially for older people or those with joint issues, walking too much can put pressure on the knees and cause pain. People who are new to walking might feel joint pain or fatigue in the beginning. This usually goes away with regular practice.
