No One Expected Revanth to Say THIS to Rajamouli

Revanth Reddy & Rajamouli: As a replacement for the Nandi Awards, the Telangana government launched the Gaddar Awards to honour notable figures in the Telugu film industry. The government hosted the awards ceremony on Saturday at Hitex, where Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attended as the chief guest and personally presented the awards to the winners. Speaking openly at the event, Revanth Reddy acknowledged that while the government might appear strict, it fully supports the film industry. “Dil Raju garu told us about the need to revive the tradition of recognising talent in cinema,” he said.

Revanth also recalled the history of the Nandi Awards, stating, “The United State of Andhra Pradesh first introduced the Nandi Awards in 1964, and ANR received the Best Award that year. Since the awards haven’t been presented for the past nine years, our government decided to bring them back under a new name, the Gaddar Awards.”

Revanth Reddy continued by thanking the Telugu film industry for its contributions. He pointed out that earlier, many believed the Telugu film industry still operated from Chennai, and most people associated Indian cinema only with Bollywood. But now, people widely recognize the Telugu film industry as a true representation of Indian cinema. Revanth credited everyone who played a role in establishing Hyderabad as a hub for Indian filmmaking.

“Today, we are witnessing the rise of fourth-generation actors,” Revanth said, reflecting on the industry’s legacy. “I’ve known many of them since my student days, Nag Ashwin, Ashwini Dutt’s daughters, Bunny, and Venkat. I’ve shared a long-standing connection with each of them.”

Revanth Reddy Surprises Rajamouli:

“We care about all of you, even though our administration comes out as harsh and unforgiving. Revanth Reddy stated, “We want to develop the film industry further,” implying that by 2047, the industry must reach Hollywood standards. To grow the state in every way, the Telangana government is already working on the “Telangana Rising 2047” plan. Revanth wished to dedicate a section of the project to the Telugu cinema industry.

“Why doesn’t Hollywood come here? Tell us what you want, and we’ll provide it to you. Revanth informed Rajamouli and Tollywood, “I will continue to be involved in politics for another 22 years, and I will help you in any way I can.” Revanth Reddy also asked Telangana’s deputy chief minister to acknowledge Rahul Sipligunj, who is from Hyderabad’s Old City but made everyone proud by singing the Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu.
