32 deceased identified via DNA:
According to the official reports, around 14 of the victims’ remains have been given to their families, and 32 of the victims of the downed Air India 171 flight headed for London have been identified through DNA testing. In addition to 29 other people, including five MBBS students, who perished in the college mess in the Meghaninagar region, 241 passengers and crew members perished in the catastrophe. The only “miraculous” survivor was a British traveler.

Authorities are using DNA testing to determine the identities of the victims of the terrible tragedy because many of the bodies were burned beyond recognition or otherwise damaged. According to officials earlier, up to 230 teams were established to work with the families of the victims.
