Mega Lok Adalat Telangana:
In a huge legal accomplishment, the Mega Lok Adalat in Telangana successfully settled nearly 1.93 lakh cases in a single day. The Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender made this announcement in a press release on Sunday.
The Mega Lok Adalat was held following the orders of the Supreme Court. The main aim was to clear cases quickly and reduce the pressure on the court system. During this event, a total of 1,93,439 cases were resolved.
Jitender also explained that nearly 6,848 people who were victims of cybercrime received back their total amount of Rs 53 crore. The police made sure the fraud amounts were refunded to the victims promptly.
Compared to the last Mega Lok Adalat, which was held in the previous quarter and cleared 1,83,182 cases, this time more cases were settled. The number of cases has gone up, reflecting the success of this legal drive.
Some of the cases resolved were related to different offenses. There were 22,095 cases where a fine was applicable under the law. A total of 8,922 cases were related to Disaster Management. Petty cases made up the highest number, with 84,601 cases cleared, and 71,527 cases were related to motor vehicle offenses.
Jitender also explained that when it comes to cybercrime cases, the Hyderabad Commissionerate stood first in helping victims get their money back. Cyberabad, Rachakonda Commissionerate, Telangana Cyber Security Bureau, and Sangareddy district followed in subsequent positions.
This Mega Lok Adalat is a big step forward in delivering speedy justice to people. It shows how alternative disputes resolution mechanisms can ease the pressure on the court system and help people resolve their cases quickly and fairly.
