Jamun Fruit: Never Eat It with These 4 Foods

Jamun Fruit: Never Eat It with These 4 Foods

Jamun Fruit Combinations to Avoid:

With the arrival of monsoon, jamun (Java plum) makes its seasonal comeback. This juicy berry, known for its sweet and tangy flavor, is not only tasty but also rich in health benefits. It contains low natural sugar, making it a great choice for people with diabetes. Eating jamun helps detox the liver, removes toxins from the body, and improves skin health thanks to the antioxidants that boost collagen production. It also supports weight loss by lowering calorie intake.

Jamun Fruit Combinations to Avoid:

While many enjoy jamun as a snack, mixed with yogurt or as a smoothie, not all combinations are healthy. Certain food items, when eaten along with jamun or shortly after, can cause digestion problems and other health issues. Let’s look at the 4 food items you should never mix with jamun.

1. Milk

Some people drink milk after eating jamun or make milkshakes using the fruit. This mix is harmful. Combining jamun with milk can stress the digestive system, slow down digestion, and lead to gas, indigestion, and stomach pain.

2. Pickles

Eating any pickle with jamun is a bad idea. The acidic nature of pickles can increase stomach acid, leading to nausea, dizziness, and stomach issues. Avoid pickles for at least an hour after eating jamun.

3. Turmeric

After eating jamun, avoid foods with turmeric for at least an hour. This mix can upset the stomach and cause acidity, bloating, or constipation. Turmeric and berries do not go well together.

4. Water

Drinking water right after eating jamun may lead to indigestion or diarrhea. Wait for 30 to 40 minutes before having water.

According to Ayurveda experts, avoiding milk, curd, pickles, turmeric, and water soon after eating jamun helps prevent digestive problems. Also, if you’re on daily medication, speak to a health expert before adding jamun to your diet.
