What’s the Story Behind the Haryana Model Murder Case?

Haryana Model Murder Case: Police say a model’s boyfriend, a married father of two, has confessed to killing her, just a day after authorities found her body with a slit throat in a canal in Haryana.

On Saturday night, the accused, Sunil, got into a heated argument with the model, Sheetal Choudhary. The fight escalated into physical violence. Police report that Sunil repeatedly stabbed and beat Sheetal before dumping her body into the canal. Officers later found him at a hospital in Panipat, where he admitted to murdering Sheetal, also known as Simi. Before confessing, Sunil allegedly tried to pass off the murder as a road accident.

June 14: Sunil’s Surprise for Sheetal:

Sheetal reached Ahar village in Panipat on Saturday to shoot for an album. Around 10:30 p.m., Sunil arrived to meet his girlfriend. He allegedly took her to his car, where they had a few drinks before a fight erupted. Around 1:30 a.m., Sheetal made a video call to her sister Neha in Panipat and told her that Sunil was abusing her. Shortly after the call, her phone switched off, and Neha couldn’t reach her again. After killing Sheetal, Sunil dumped the car, with her body inside, into the canal.

June 15 – Police Found A Car:

On Sunday, Haryana Police discovered Sunil’s vehicle in a canal near Panipat, but they found no trace of Sheetal. Meanwhile, Sunil arrived at the hospital and claimed that his car had crashed into the canal. He said he managed to swim to safety, but Sheetal drowned. He then got himself admitted to the hospital. At that point, police had not yet located Sheetal.

June 16 – Sheetal’s Body Found:

On Monday, police found a body with a slit throat in a canal in Kharkhoda, near Sonipat. They identified the body as Sheetal’s by the tattoos on her wrist and chest. Police also noted multiple stab wounds on her body. According to their statement, the body had floated to Kharkhoda from Panipat, a distance of around 80 kilometers.

June 17 – Sunil Confession:
After being investigated, Sunil admitted to killing Sheetal and was taken into custody. It is currently unknown what specifically caused the murder.

Sunil & Sheetal’s 6-Year-Old Friendship:

Sheetal and Sunil had known each other for nearly six years, during which she worked at his hotel in Karnal. When she learned that Sunil was a father of two, she rejected his marriage proposal. Sheetal, who was married and had a five-month-old child, had previously worked in the Haryanvi music industry. Authorities have ordered a postmortem examination of her body.
