Walgaon Substation Fire: Power Outage Sparks Violent Attack by youth in Amravati

In a shocking incident, the Walgaon substation fire in Amravati district has raised serious concerns about public anger over infrastructure failures. Two young men, reportedly enraged by a prolonged power outage in Revasa village, allegedly set fire to a local electricity substation and attempted to attack the duty engineer with petrol.

Frustration Over Power Cuts Triggers Violence

The violent act occurred around noon on Monday, after Revasa residents faced a power blackout since Friday night. With no communication from electricity officials and multiple calls going unanswered, villagers decided to confront the staff directly.

Attempted Assault and Arson Caught on Camera

During the confrontation at the Walgaon substation, one youth started recording a video of the on-duty engineer. Another suspect allegedly poured petrol on the engineer, who managed to escape just in time. The attackers then doused office furniture with petrol and set a table on fire.

A video of the Walgaon substation fire is now circulating online, showing flames inside the office. The fire caused damage to furniture and temporarily disrupted local power operations.
