Air India has temporarily suspended and reduced several international flights, citing operational and maintenance challenges. The decision impacts major international routes, mainly operated by Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft.
Air India says the temporary changes are due to:
Voluntary enhanced pre-flight safety checks
Increased flight durations caused by airspace closures in the Middle East
The airline says these steps are necessary to maintain high safety standards while minimizing sudden cancellations.
Amritsar to London: Suspended until July 15
Goa to London: Suspended until July 15
Delhi to Nairobi: Suspended until June 30
These suspensions aim to optimize fleet availability and ensure efficient turnaround during maintenance schedules.
From June 22 to July 15, Air India will reduce weekly flights on several routes, including:
Delhi to Toronto, Washington, London, Paris, Vienna, Melbourne, Tokyo
On some of these routes, frequencies may be halved or consolidated with other scheduled departures.
While this may cause temporary disruption, the airline says it is contacting impacted passengers with rebooking options, refunds, or alternate flight arrangements. Travelers are urged to:
Check their flight status before traveling
Monitor official Air India updates
Use the Air India app or website for real-time information
Air India said the core goal is to restore schedule stability and prevent last-minute cancellations. With the summer travel season in full swing, the airline wants to avoid widespread chaos by acting early.
