Hyderabad Metro Phase-2 (B): The Telangana government submitted a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 (B) extension to the central government, setting the stage for a major boost in the city’s urban transportation. The project, estimated at ₹19,579 crore, aims to expand the metro network by 86.1 kilometers.
Just days after Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi, the state government promptly submitted all necessary documentation for the Phase-2 (B) proposal. NVS Reddy, Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, confirmed the development and emphasized its significance for improving the city’s transit infrastructure.
The Phase-2 (B) plan includes three crucial corridors:
Officials planned this extension to improve last-mile connectivity and meet the region’s growing demand for efficient public transport. The corridor connecting Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) to Bharat Future City (Skills University) is seen as especially transformative. It links key hubs of education and business.

The government structured the project identically to Phase-2 (A), which it previously submitted and which covered 76.4 km across five routes. For Phase-2 (B), the state has also proposed a joint venture with the central government. Under the central government’s joint venture norms, the funding model will include the following:
