Sriram Remanded in Drug Case: In a stunning twist from the world of Tamil cinema, actor Sriram was remanded to judicial custody until July 7 in a high-profile drug case. His arrest sent shockwaves through the entertainment and political worlds, fueling controversies over celebrity drug abuse and political intrusion into police work.
Sriram was detained after being investigated by the Anti-Narcotics Division, which alleged that he had bought and consumed prohibited substances. The division requested a formal custody petition, invoking the requirement of further interrogation. The police have confirmed that Sriram had made a minimum of 42 drug buys, according to the digital and financial records obtained in the investigation. These transactions, reportedly ongoing for a few months, included the purchase of various narcotic materials from various sources.
