Naga Babu on Niharika’s Divorce: “It Was Our Mistake”

Naga Babu: The actor-turned-producer Nagendra Babu has finally spoken out on the divorce of his daughter Niharika Konidela. Following her 2016 debut with Oka Manasu, Niharika married Chaitanya Jonnalagadda in 2020, and the two parted ways in 2023.

Naga Babu recently talked about Niharika’s struggles in an interview. “Niharika and I often talk about everything,” Naga Babu revealed. I never become involved in my kids’ professional lives. The success or failure of my children’s films doesn’t matter to me; what matters is that they are happy. If they aren’t good, what good of having crores?

He also discussed his marriage to actress and longtime lover Lavanya Tripathi, as well as his son, actor Varun Tej Konidela. When Varun first disclosed their connection, Naga said he had questioned him about whether he would be content if he married Lavanya. Naga approved of their marriage, and Varun was sure they would be happy together. Now that Varun and Lavanya are living a tranquil life, he is happy.

Naga acknowledged that his assessment of Niharika’s marital trajectory was inaccurate. “I made a mistake in judgment. We made a mistake with that marriage. We were unable to accurately judge it. He disclosed, “We didn’t force the marriage; she accepted the proposal when it was made, and we thought it would be good.” He also said that Niharika and Chaitanya had a cordial split. He then further said, “I was fine with their decision because they weren’t happy and didn’t want to stay together.”

Niharika Konidela’s Marriage & Career:
In the conclusion, he disclosed that Niharika is presently occupied with film production and may eventually marry someone else. “Committee Kurrollu,” a rural drama released in 2024, marked Niharika’s producing debut. The film examined friendship, loyalty, politics, and rural culture while being made on a small budget with up-and-coming actors. Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi’s brother is Naga Babu. Her cousins Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Sai Dharam Tej, Panja Vaissnav Tej, Lakshmi Manchu, and many others attended Niharika’s lavish wedding.
