Prabhas Kannappa Promotions:
The much awaited devotional film Kannappa is just a couple of days away from release and advance bookings in Telugu states are about to begin. Actor and producer Manchu Vishnu has gone all out with aggressive promotions. From conducting pre release events to giving endless interviews and visiting temples, he has done everything possible to generate buzz for the film. The team addressed the censor board’s suggestions and locked the final cut of the film, which runs for 3 hours and 2 minutes.
But fans are wondering why Prabhas, who plays a key cameo in the second half of Kannappa, hasn’t appeared during promotions. His absence has disappointed many followers.
However reports from sources close to the project reveal that Prabhas had already informed Vishnu and his father Mohan Babu in advance. When he agreed to do the role, he clearly mentioned that he wouldn’t be able to participate in promotional activities. He requested that no one should expect it later or feel awkward about his absence. The Baahubali star shared this gracefully, and the team reportedly understood and respected his decision.
Moreover, Prabhas has been busy with other film commitments and returned from abroad only recently. He immediately got involved in his next film The Raja Saab leaving him no time for promotions.
While fans agree that Prabhas’s presence could have taken the hype for Kannappa to the next level, the film’s opening day collections are still expected to benefit greatly from his cameo. If the movie receives strong word-of-mouth Manchu Vishnu could get the breakthrough he’s been hoping for.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa features an ensemble cast including Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal and Sarath Kumar. But the biggest talking point remains Prabhas’s special role which is already creating waves in the marketing game.
