Telangana July Holidays 2025: Bonalu, Moharram and Full Holiday List for Schools

Telangana July Holidays 2025:

After a dry spell of holidays in June, students in Telangana can now look forward to a bunch of holidays in July. With summer vacations just ending, many students have already returned to school feeling a bit heavy hearted. But July comes with some festive breaks and long weekends that can lift their spirits.

Telangana July Holidays 2025:

One of the main festivals in July is Bonalu, which will be celebrated throughout Telangana especially in Hyderabad with great enthusiasm. The celebrations begin from June 26 with the offering of the first Bonam at the Golconda Fort. Bonalu festivals will continue across Balkampet, Secunderabad,l and finally Hyderabad city. Due to these celebrations, July 21 (Monday) has been declared an official holiday in Hyderabad.

Another important holiday is Moharram which is a significant day for the Muslim community. This year 9th Moharram falls on July 5 (Saturday) which the Telangana government has announced as an optional holiday. The 10th Moharram however falls on July 6 (Sunday) which is already a regular holiday. Some regions especially areas with a high Muslim population like Hyderabad’s Old City may declare July 5 as a full holiday based on local decisions.

In Secunderabad, Bonalu will be celebrated at Ujjaini Mahankali temple on July 13 (Sunday). As thousands of devotees are expected, there’s a possibility that local schools may declare July 12 or 14 as holidays to manage the crowds.

Additionally schools will also remain closed on four Sundays and second Saturday of the month, making five regular holidays.

So if we add it all up one festival holiday (Bonalu one optional holiday (Moharram), and five weekends the students may get up to 7 holidays in July.

Moreover, if there are any weather emergencies like heavy rains or strikes, sudden holidays might also be declared.

Students in Telangana now have something exciting to look forward to after a dull June. July promises a few relaxing breaks!
