Aamir Khan’s Underworld Invite: The underworld held significant influence over the Hindi film industry during the 1980s and 1990s. Around that time, in the late 1980s, Aamir Khan made his Bollywood debut as the lead in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), which his cousin Mansoor Khan directed in his debut.
Underworld Party Invitation to Aamir Khan:
Like many celebrities of that era, the underworld invited Aamir Khan to a party they organized in the Middle East during the late 1990s, around the time he rose to fame. “I declined their invitation to the party, which I believe was in Dubai,” Aamir said. Without naming anyone or confirming a direct link to notorious mobster Dawood Ibrahim, Aamir explained, “Some people from the underworld came to meet me and invited me to the party. I don’t take names, not even from my industry. That’s just how I am.”
Aamir recalled what he told them: “I wouldn’t go on my own, but you can take me anywhere you want.” During his interview with The Lallantop, he revealed that they had made several attempts to persuade him. “They offered me money and promised to get anything I wanted done. Still, I refused to attend,” he said.
According to Aamir, when he turned them down repeatedly, they changed their tone. They told him that his attendance had already been reported, and it had become a matter of prestige, so he must show up immediately.
“That meeting was our last,” Aamir said. “I told them, ‘We’ve been meeting for a month, and from day one I’ve said I wouldn’t come. I still won’t. But you’re powerful, so go ahead. Hit me, tie me up, and drag me there if you want. I won’t come on my own.” After that, Aamir said, they stopped contacting him.

Aamir Khan admitted that he felt terrified at the time, mainly for his family, not himself. “Back then, I had two small children. My family grew concerned. They asked me, ‘What are you doing? These people are dangerous.’ I told them, ‘I want to live my life the way I want.’ I simply said, ‘I’d rather not go there,’” Aamir recalled.
He emphasized that he worried more about his loved ones than his safety. At the time, Aamir and his then-wife, Reena Dutta, were raising two children: Junaid Khan, born in 1993, and Ira Khan, born in 1997. Aamir had married Reena in 1986. The couple separated in 2002. A few years ago, discussions surfaced about Aamir possibly starring in a biopic on late producer Gulshan Kumar, who was shot dead by the mafia in 1997. Bhushan Kumar, Gulshan’s son and the current CEO of T-Series, planned to produce the film. Subhash Kapoor was set to direct it. After Aamir stepped away from the project, the team considered Akshay Kumar for the lead role. However, no new updates about the film have been released since then.
