Beginning with stampedes and factory fires to a ghastly murder and road transport accidents, the month has left the nation shaken and mourning. Each incident exposed underlying factors rampage management and infrastructure loopholes to domestic violence and lack of attention.


June 4: Bengaluru RCB Victory Celebration Stampede

A celebration of RCB’s IPL victory throughout the city turned tragic when the absence of crowd control led to a stampede in Bengaluru. Several lives were lost, and dozens were injured, questioning the failure to arrange sufficient safety measures for public events.

June 12: Ahmedabad Air India Plane Crash

A devastating setback was struck when an Air India plane crash-landed at Ahmedabad, killing several passengers. The nation was shocked and an investigation into technical failure or pilot error was initiated, fuelling concerns about flight safety.


Rail Accidents: Fire and Derailment

There were two major rail incidents back-to-back:

June 13: A rail derailment in Delhi injured passengers and disrupted travel.

June 16: A blaze broke out on a passenger train, causing panic and injuries, exposing glaring loopholes in in-train fire safety measures.

Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case

June 29: Rath Yatra Stampede

During Rath Yatra conducted annually in Odisha, poor crowd management resulted in a stampede that resulted in the death of several devotees. June 30: Telangana Factory Blast

Wrapping up the month was a gruesome chemical reactor blast in Sangareddy, Telangana, which killed 10 workers and injured more than 2 dozens. Firefighters battled blazes for hours in one of the year’s deadliest industrial disasters.
