Book train coach IRCTC:
Booking train tickets in India can be challenging, especially when traveling in large groups. While securing seats together for a group of people may seem difficult, the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) offers a practical solution: booking an entire train or coach through its Full Tariff Rate (FTR) service. This service allows you to charter a coach, train, or even a luxurious saloon for your group, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free journey.
IRCTC provides three types of charter services:
Railway Coach Charter: You can book a single coach with 18 to 100 seats.
Train Charter: This option allows you to reserve an entire train, which can have 18 to 24 coaches.
Saloon Charter: A luxurious private saloon with living amenities is available for exclusive travel.
Booking opens 6 months in advance and closes 30 days before departure.
For multi-coach bookings, a minimum of 18 coaches and a maximum of 24 are required. At least 2 SLR (Second Class Luggage and Brake) or generator cars must be included.
A Rs 50,000 deposit is required per coach as the Registration Money cum Security Deposit (RMSD).
Online: You can submit your request through the IRCTC FTR Portal at [ftr.irctc.co.in](https://www.ftr.irctc.co.in). Register your account, select the type of charter, and provide your journey details (origin, destination, date, number of coaches). After uploading the passenger list and paying the deposit, your booking request will be processed.
Offline: Alternatively, you can visit the Chief Reservation Officer or Station Manager at the station from where the train originates. Complete the necessary forms, provide passenger details, and pay the required fare and deposit.
This service is perfect for large group travels like weddings, corporate trips, or pilgrimages.
Chartering an entire train or coach via IRCTC is a great option for group travel, offering both convenience and comfort. By following the easy booking steps outlined above, you can ensure that your group travels together without any hassles.
