Saiyaara Trailer Review: The latest trailer of Saiyaara is now taking discussions online by storm; it has very dramatic music, high emotional content, and beautiful romantic stills, so everybody notices the reflections of Aashiqui 2 in it. So is the next installment really a parody? Or an inspired screenplay of the iconic romantic drama?
The much sweeping montage of lovers in the rain and the subsequent dramatic intense emotional exchanges chain up most shots in this trailer familiar to Aashiqui 2. The lead pair’s chemistry, brooding looks, and soft music cues are all too much reminiscent of the 2013 cult hit, leading one to speculate that Saiyaara is a loving nod rather than a straight-up spoof.
In contrast to the way a full parody sounds, with comedic twist and satire, the trailer of Saiyaara sounds quite earnest. Hence, it seems that the film might not be in favor of outright comedy like the parody but rather of homage. It is a reminiscence of when people were able to experience love’s soaring highs and crashing lows.
And just like that, social media reaction is flooding it. Some enjoy the hits of nostalgia. “That rain scene literally gave me Aashiqui 2 vibes!” says one user.
Others are more cynical: “Seems way too copy-paste; hoping the film shall stand on its own.”
Now fans are curious whether Saiyaara will be offering original storytelling or a huge buildup of borrowed tropes from its predecessor.
The trailer does bring glimpses of heartbreak, music, and dramatic backdrops, but whether Saiyaara would deliver a heartfelt tribute or a modern retelling or a romantic dramedy, self-aware winks will be clear only through the complete film.

For now, Saiyaara indeed seems pretty much a nostalgic homage with the most potent Aashiqui 2 references, but ultimately, the success or failure of the film rests on whether it can blend emotion with originality. So, lovers of romance will keep an eye on the film to see whether it creates that magic.
