What VDK Said?
Tollywood star Vijay Deverakonda is gearing up for his upcoming film Kingdom, which is directed by Gautam Tinnanuri. This movie was originally set to release on July 25, but due to unforeseen delays, it will now hit the big screens by the end of this month. The new release date was announced through a special video shared by the makers.
In a recent interview, Vijay opened up about his approach to choosing scripts and the importance of quality in his career. He mentioned how he has become more firm in his decision-making process, especially when it comes to scripts. “In the film industry, if we don’t have support, we can’t just say ‘This script is not good, I won’t do this film’. I didn’t have this kind of freedom to speak my mind in the past,” he shared.
He continued, “But now, if a star with family support in the industry gets a script they don’t like, they can simply say no. Later, the father would step in, asking for a few more months or promising to bring in more writers to make it better. As for me, I’ve recently become quite strict about scripts. I feel confident telling the directors that I won’t go ahead unless the script works for me. It’s not just about money; my career is very important to me. I’ve decided that I want to be happy with what I do. Only after I’m satisfied with the script, I move forward.”
