Eating too Many oranges can cause stomach pain, diarrhea, bloating, and nausea in some people. Excessive vitamin C intake in the body can cause heartburn, headache, vomiting, and insomnia. People with gastroesophageal reflux disease should be especially careful. Because a study published in the Journal of Neurogastroenterology and Motility says that heartburn can occur after eating citrus fruits like oranges.

 

Oranges are acidic, so they can sometimes irritate the stomach lining in people with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). People with GERD should only consume oranges after consulting a doctor or nutritionist before consuming them. Otherwise, they can sometimes cause serious digestive problems, including heartburn and vomiting, in GERD patients.

 

Also, people with high levels of potassium in their bodies should consult a doctor before consuming oranges. High levels of potassium in the body can cause a serious condition called hyperkalemia. Hyperkalemia can lead to nausea, weakness, muscle fatigue, and heart palpitations.
