Bengaluru–Shivamogga Vande Bharat: Indian Railways continues to expand its semi-high-speed Vande Bharat services across the country. As part of this initiative, officials have planned a new Vande Bharat Express route between Bengaluru and Shivamogga, which will also pass through Hyderabad. Authorities believe this service will significantly benefit students, employees, and business travelers commuting between the two cities.
MP PC Mohan Confirms the New Route:
Bengaluru Central MP PC Mohan announced on social media that the Vande Bharat train will soon start operating between Bengaluru and Shivamogga. Although officials haven’t finalized the launch date or timetable yet, the announcement has already sparked excitement, especially among residents of Shivamogga, located nearly 300 km from Bengaluru.
People in the region have long demanded this service. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Shivamogga airport in 2023, locals urged the government to launch a Vande Bharat train connecting Shivamogga and Bengaluru. Their persistent demand is now on the verge of becoming reality.
The upcoming train service will also connect directly with the Shivamogga airport, providing faster and more convenient travel options for passengers in both regions. This long-awaited addition is expected to enhance connectivity, reduce travel time, and boost overall convenience for daily commuters and tourists alike.

Bengaluru–Belagavi Vande Bharat Began in May:
The Bengaluru–Belagavi Vande Bharat Express, which launched in May this year, has already begun offering improved rail services to passengers. The train departs from Belagavi in the morning and reaches Bengaluru by afternoon. After a brief halt of about an hour, it returns from Bengaluru and arrives back in Belagavi by evening.
With the upcoming addition of the Vande Bharat Express on the Shivamogga route, Indian Railways aims to further enhance premium train connectivity across Karnataka. This expansion will not only strengthen the semi-high-speed rail infrastructure but also offer more comfortable, faster, and efficient travel options for passengers throughout the state.
