Kaun Banega Crorepati – KBC is returning with a brand-new season. Sony TV just dropped the official announcement, confirming that Amitabh Bachchan will once again take the hot seat as the iconic host. The legendary quiz show premieres on August 11, airing Monday to Friday at 9 pm.
The announcement came with a fresh and fun promotional video. In it, Big B pays tribute to one of his most unforgettable roles—Vijay from Agneepath. The video combines nostalgia, humor, and sharp commentary, instantly grabbing attention.
The promo opens with a loud, arrogant man yelling at a salesman for “ruining” his imported carpet. But the salesman surprises him. He educates the man about the carpet’s material and dust-repelling properties. Then, he hands over some cash for the man’s sore throat and walks away calmly.
That’s when Amitabh Bachchan enters. He delivers the punchline: “Jaha akal hai, waha akad hai” – “Where there is wisdom, there is confidence.”
Big B then breaks the fourth wall to introduce the new season. He quickly adjusts his pose, echoing his famous Agneepath character. With a fierce expression, he says, “11 August se appointment hai apna, kya bolta hai? Appointment. English bolta hai.” His body language, tone, and timing light up the screen.
Kaun Banega Crorepati began in 2000, during a challenging time in Bachchan’s career. It changed everything for him and for Indian television. Even though Shah Rukh Khan briefly took over for one season, Bachchan’s return sealed the show’s legendary status.
