Despite age-related health complications, Kota remained active in films until two years ago. His final appearance was in the 2023 film Suvarna Sundari. With a film career spanning over four decades, he acted in more than 750 films, leaving a lasting impact on Telugu cinema with his versatile performances as a villain, comedian, and character artist.

Born on July 10, 1942, Kota Srinivasa Rao made his acting debut in 1978 with Pranam Khareedu. He became one of the most respected actors in the Telugu industry, known for his strong screen presence and memorable roles. Apart from Telugu, he acted in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam films.
In addition to his film career, Kota also served as an MLA from Vijayawada East between 1999 and 2004. Over the years, he shared the screen with almost every major star in the Telugu industry, from Chiranjeevi to Nagarjuna. Kota’s passing marks the end of an era in Tollywood. The industry not only mourns the loss of a gifted actor but also a cherished colleague and mentor. Reports also state that he had previously endured personal loss, having lost both his sons.
