Man Feeds Colleague ‘Truth Serum’: An employee who gave a colleague a drug to secretly leak some work-related information has been sentenced to prison. The incident took place in Shanghai. He allegedly gave his colleague the drug on three separate occasions.
A young man named Li gave a drug known as ‘truth serum’ to his colleague during a business trip. ‘Just drink a few drops of this, it will make people tell the truth,’ the seller claimed. That’s how Li gave him the drug to extract information from his colleague at work and achieve his own goals.
Li did not know anything about the nature of his job, the upcoming plans, or its importance. So he decided to leak it to his colleague Wang.
The first incident took place on August 29, 2022, during a dinner in Suhui District. Li mixed truth serum into Wang’s drink. Wang felt uneasy after drinking it.
Next, on October 13, at another dinner in Yangpu District, Li Wang was given a drink laced with truth serum. He is said to have suffered from the same disorder since then. The last time he was given it was on November 6. That day, Wang went to the hospital and tests revealed the presence of clonazepam and sildenafil.
The investigation found that Li was behind it. The court has now sentenced Li to 3 years and 3 months in prison and a fine of 1.20 lakh.
