Red Sea International Film Festival was launched in 2019 and mainly focuses on new storytelling trends, as well as emerging talents from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world and the rest of the Global South.

The festival looks at establishing a solid foundation for the film industry in Saudi Arabia that may contribute to diversifying the income of the country.

Two of the current biggest Indian superstars Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor were invited to the Red Sea Film Festival. Kareena Kapoor, Amir Khan and other Indian stars made India proud on the global stage as they represented the country at the Red Sea International Film Festival 2024.
