Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie Remuneration: Rumors have circulated for some time that Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth’s upcoming film will cost between ₹350 and ₹400 crore. Reports also claimed that Lokesh is earning ₹50 crore, while Rajinikanth is taking home a massive ₹150 crore. In an interview with THR India, Lokesh Kanagaraj confirmed his remuneration and put an end to the speculation.

Lokesh’s Salary for Coolie:

In an interview, Lokesh Kanagaraj openly disclosed that he received ₹50 crore for Coolie, a figure that doubled after the success of his previous film, Leo. Unlike most actors and directors who avoid the topic, he spoke candidly about his pay. “I can’t talk about Rajinikanth Sir’s remuneration,” he said. “But the ₹50 crore you mentioned is my fee, and I earned it because Leo collected over ₹600 crore. I’m now getting twice what I made before,” the director confirmed.

Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed that he spent two years making Coolie, which justified the payment he received. “I can support my friends and family because I pay my taxes,” he said. He added that he has no complaints about the sacrifices he made to reach this stage. “It was my responsibility to dedicate the last two years to Coolie,” he remarked.

When asked whether there’s pressure on the film to hit the ₹1000 crore mark, he replied that only the producer, director, and actor should worry about the box office performance.

Rajinikanth, Nagajuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Monisha Blessy, and Kaali Venkat are the main cast members of Coolie. The film, which was produced by Sun Pictures, Kalanithi Maran, features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. It will be released in theaters on August 14 and will coincide with War 2, starring Ayan Mukerji, Hrithik Roshan, and Jr. NTR.
