Fahadh Faasil’s Vertu Phone: The star of social media now is the baby phone used by Fahadh Faasil. At first, everyone mistook it for a simple keypad phone that fits in the hand. But after knowing that Fahad is holding a luxury brand Vertu phone, netizens are guessing its price and model. Although it is small in appearance, the price is not cheap and the features that it offers are outstanding.


What is Vertu?

Vertu is a UK based phone manufacturer. Founded in 1998, Vertu was owned by mobile phone maker Nokia. Now the history of this is known. Vertu phones were initially manufactured in factories in Church Crookham, Hampshire, England. Back then, Vertu initially sold handsets with a focus on craftsmanship, style and service rather than mobile phone functionality. It is still the hallmark of Vertu. Vertu has established footprints in New York City, Dubai, Moscow, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Paris and Singapore. However, in October 2012, Nokia sold Vertu to private equity group Equity VI. But the company retained 10% share.

 


By the end of 2013, Vertu had approximately 350,000 customers, in 2015, Equity announced the sale of Vertu’s Hong Kong-based holding company to Godin Holdings.In March 2017, Godin Holdings Co. sold Vertu to Bafferton Ltd., a Turkish company based in Cyprus. The company went bankrupt in 2017. The new shareholders even filed for bankruptcy protection in court. The 2017 version of the Vertu Constellation was the last Vertu handset released before bankruptcy. But in 2018, Vertu emerged from bankruptcy and unveiled the Aster P smartphone at an event in Beijing in October. Dual AI models will be launched in October 2022. Vertu claims it’s “the world’s first Web3 phone with Web 3.0 blockchain technology and a built-in Image to NFT converter.

The social media discovered that the Vertu phone in Fahad’s hand belongs to Vertu Ascent Leeris. Vertu Ascent series phones are priced up to Rs.5 lakh.
